Kirsty Coventry dari Zimbabwe telah dipilih sebagai Presiden ke-10 Jawatankuasa Olimpik Antarabangsa (IOC), menjadikan sejarah sebagai wanita pertama dan Afrika pertama yang memegang jawatan tersebut. Bekas perenang Olimpik berusia 41 tahun itu memenangi pilihan raya dalam undi rahsia semasa Sidang IOC ke-144 di Greece. Coventry, yang juga berkhidmat sebagai menteri sukan Zimbabwe, akan memimpin organisasi tersebut untuk tempoh lapan tahun. Pilihan raya beliau menandakan langkah penting ke arah kepelbagaian dan perwakilan yang lebih besar dalam kepimpinan sukan global. Beliau menggantikan Thomas Bach, yang telah memimpin IOC sejak 2013.
